I should've seen comments here before I tried to use refer-a-friend. Fido won't give straight guidelines on how to proceed with activating your account using the 'Refer-a-friend' program. When you try to follow what they say, it will activate your account before you apply to the program. This is enough reason for them to consider that 'your account was already active when you applied to refer-a-friend'. Even though the activation was just a couple of days before and those things are clearly linked. I sent screenshots clearly showing that I only entered Fido via a refer from a friend. Fido will still say this doesn't change anything and they won't give us the discount. I found this very dishonest and not what I would expect from a high-ranked company in Canada.
I would consider trying a more honest phone company.
