I have purchased an iPhone 5 in 2013/2014 and have just powered back on the cellphone. Unfortunately it requires me to sign into iCloud and well it's been awhile.
I was wondering if there is any way I can retrieve proof of purchase to provide to apple to fix the activation unlock?

Good morning @cmamasig09 , are you able to get your past invoices from fido on the website? The purchase is a long while back. Are you still with Fido? The best way to find out if your proof of purchase still exists is to ask a service representative. You can dm fidosolutions on Twitter and ask them if it's possible. You'd think after 7 years that Apple would work with you to figure it out. You may want to check in one of the apple stores for help/advice.
