The lights on the modem doesn't work

Hello, a modem was brought today, I connect everything according to the instructions, but why does the light bulb @ not light up what could be the reason?

When you plug in the modem no light come on? Not even the power light? I would suggest you try a different outlet to make sure the modem is getting power if not you might have a dead modem and you should contact Fido's internet technical department.
