The agreement I signed with Fido clearly states $36 for internet and $4 for modem rental, which adds up to a total of $40 + tax. I also confirmed with the staff, if there would be any hidden chargers or extra fees, and she responded with a clear NO.
However, when I received the bill, it says $56.86. The bill was calculated very differently to the agreement signed.
This is quite disappointing and I feel very decieved. I would defintely like an explaination.

We'd need to check your account to see what's up there, but my guess is that it may have to do with the prorated days charged due to the activation (you can check all the days you were charged for on your invoice). You can contact us here for that or request a PM from the community here.
