New modem not working

Hey I recently got fido modem to replace bell modem which is connected with dsl.

Fido modem doesn't have dsl.

I have coax outlet they dont work. 
i think coax is good .

is it because my service is not active or something 

please help

Welcome to the community!

The modem should be activated when it arrives, try connecting the modem directly to the cable coming into the house if it does not work it is possible the cable is disconnected somewhere outside and you will have to get a technician to come and check.
