Internet slow/dropping

My home internet has been very inconsistent since the beginning of November.  Very frustrating as someone who works from home and uses Zoom to have it keep disconnecting. I was a guest speaker for a live webinar and 1 min in it disconnected. I've of course unplugged and reconnected my modem whenever this happens but it doesn't seem to be getting better. My neighbor also said her connection has been terrible as well and she's with Rogers. 
My bill jumped $30 in sept, and I received a notification that it's going to go up another $4 dollars in January... why are we getting charged more for worse service?
