Getting only 8Mbps speed, but signed up for 150Mbps

Connection is very slow. Often i get only around 8Mbps of Speed but i have signed up for 150Mbps. Whatsapp call doesnot work at any time. Not able to contact any Fido customer care too. waiting period is too long more than a hour at any time. please do the needful. Thanks!

Hello @vinokadams,

 

When doing the speed test you should do it with your computer connected to the modem's ethernet port.

If the line that the modem is connected to has a splitter try removing it, if it doesn't have one and if you have access to a splitter try putting one on the line I've actually seen instances where the signal is too high and you need a filter on the line before the modem.

I tried restarting several times, speed will be good only for some time after restart. I tried calling technical support and i couldn't catch anyone.

This doesn't sound right. You had a chance to restart your modem to see if you get the same result?

 

Also, did you get a chance to talk to our technical support?
