I recently moved into a new house and bought fido home internet. I've been using DSL my entire life so coaxial is totally new and bizzare to me. This is a generally old home and it only has one coaxial cable which comes out of the basement into the livingroom from a hole in the floor, but that's the only cable I've seen yet. When I went to unplug the cable TV and into the new modem it wouldn't screw onto it and the router didn't light up with the blue lights like the guide said it should. I did some research on coaxial internet and everything I saw was with coaxial wall plugs which I have none in the house. To sum it up I don't know where I should be plugging the modem in because I have no coaxial cable plug ins anywhere in the house, can anyone help? Thanks!

Hey @Dixon1!
I'll certainly try to help you out as best I can.
Is the cable you're using for cable TV the one that runs from the basement?
Also, is your cable TV working when you use the cable?
You said that the cable doesn't screw in to the modem, but does it fit the modem?
Let us know.
