I requested to return phone and requested to exchange for another one. I was told on the support call that they will prepare a return label, then I just order the phone I want after my plan goes back to Bring your own device plan. I sent back the phone today and so far nothing changed. Do I have to wait till they receive it before I order the new phone?

Firstly, you should note the forums are community-driven and not intended as a venue for customer services. We do not have access to customers' accounts nor would we know what was previously discussed.
As far as I am aware, I don't think plans would automatically revert back to old plans if customers return their device purchases. In some cases, I don't think it's possible to gain old plans if they are no longer currently offered. That said, are you planning on financing another phone? If that is your intent, you would need to switch from your BYOP again (assuming you are able to regain your old plan).
