Slow download speed on iPhone 4S

How is it that the download speed on my iphone 4s is much less than what I used to have on my iphone 4!?

I am in Montreal, and back in July, I had doanload speed of 4-5 Mbps on my iPhone 4. But now with iPhone 4s, dspite the higher theoretical speed, I only get 1-2 Mbps download.

Probably network load. Whenever there is an iPhone launch the network tends to get loaded to the point of saturation. Try running the test late at night or very early in the morning.

I understand that this might be due to temporary high load on the network. I am more concerned about what Fido told me! I called technical support and they told me iPhone 4s is NOT going to get higher speed on Fido's network, compared to iPhone 4! I am not expecting to get twice the previous speed but certainly I expect to have higher download rate that my iPhone 4 since the theoretical download rate is twice faster (max 14.4 Mbps compared to 7.2 on iPhone 4), unless Fido  limits the download rate for iphone 4s!!
