Regarding using an unlocked blackberry 9860 with fido data add-on

Do I need to request a BIS service book from Fido? or is that automatically sent to me?

the add-on is the $25/500Mb one.

Phone is working fine, and the new plan comes through next billing cycle.

You just need a BlackBerry (BIS) compatible data plan, the very first time you activate it the service books are pushed. otherwise you can push them at any time afterwards just go into your phones host routing tables (HRT) and select register,  your provider will automatically push the service books anytime you do this.
