Not getting voicemails

I'm getting notifications that voicemails are being left on my iPhone and have left several test messages myself. Every time I check my voicemail, I enter my passcode and the voicemail attendant says it has nothing to tell me. But I know there are voicemail messages and I can't access them.

Any thoughts or help you can give me would be greatly appreciated.
