My media files deleted from LG GOSSIP??

So last nite I put my phone on charge! I had already turned if off when I plugged it in for charge and this morning i turn on my phone and all my pictures and videos are gone from the phone except the sounds/songs I added? What could've caused this??? Is there anyway I can retrieve those files?? :(( HELP ME pls this totally ruined my friday for me So sad.

does the LG Gossip have a memory card slot? if the answer is yes, did you place your photos on the memory card? if the answer is yes then try putting the memory card into a pc
