Hi there, I called Fido to find out how to do this. The guy on the other end said he could not do it, it had to be done online through My Account. I have yet to see where online this could be done. Is he misinformed or have I overlooked something?

I am confirming it is not possible for Fido to block neither text messages nor phonecalls from specific numbers.
It is also not possible for you to do this online via MyAccount.
The only way this can be done is via the phone itself, and that feauture is not supported on all models/devices. You will need to check your phone's user guide or with the manufacturer if this can be done with your current equipment.

i dont know either, but if the guy on the phone lied to you by telling you it can be done online and we find out it cant, then you should be able to call in and put in a complaint about him giving you incorrect information not following company policy and have the rep coached so his manager can train him to not do this mistake again.
