Even though the device was stolen, they charged the whole device from me and made a bill on the new device, and do I have a chance to get the money for this device back?

Hello Muhammet1,

Sorry to hear your device was stolen.   I understand it might be frustrating having to pay-off the balance of a device which was stolen. However, if that device is still under contract, you owe money on that device. The contract would continue even if you no longer have the device (see here). If you financed a new device, that would cancel your existing contract and you would be charged the remaining balance for the device (see here).

If someone's financed laptop (or other item) is stolen, it isn't on the store selling the item to forgo the remaining balance on the laptop (or item). Unfortunately, you would still be responsible for the outstanding balance of the item.

If you had device protection (with loss and theft) on the phone or home/renter's insurance, you may be able to make a claim for the loss of the device. However, it may or may not be worth considering depending on your policy's deductible. That said, filing an insurance or device protection claim would not absolve you from your contractual obligations. You would not get any money back for the device since it was money you owed on the device.
