sms not sending

I have an old motorola razr v3, and while changing some MMS settings, my sms service centre number got deleted (don't ask me how!) i looked up the appropriate number and re-entered it (+15149331123) but i still cannot send sms. i have tried switching phones, and the service centre number is loaded correctly on the other phone, but it also cannot send. any thoughts?
