higher priced first bill

is it normal for the internet bill to be higher on the first month?i was supposed to be charged 37.5 + taxes = $42.37 but its more around $53

Depending on the billing cycle date, it's normal that your first invoice is a bit higher as it includes partial charges from the date you activated until the billing cycle date + the regular one month in advance. 

Make sure to check out your PDF bill like KAPABLE-K mentioned and you'll be able to find the details of the charges as well as the periods billed.
