Samsung S7 eating up data usage

I have exact issue. Three years ago I was with Koodo mobile and with almost same usage 500 MD data was just enough, then switch last year to Rogers and I was burning about 750-800 MB out of 1 GB DATA. Now with Fido I find with lesser usage I am exceeding 2 GB data. There must be some trick. I am thinking of switching to some other provider.
