If you are getting a promotional discount on a device and you change your plan that discount will remain as it is for the device and not the plan, if you change plans to one that is not eligible for a device then you will have the pay the remaining device balance.
If you have a discount on the plan and you change your plan then those discounts will automatically be removed,
