PAYING BILL AUTOMATICALY THRUGH CREDIT CARD

I WAS PAYING FIDO BILLS AUTOMATICALLY THROUGH MY TANGERINE CREDIT CARD WHICH GOT REPLACED BY A NEW CARD SINCE THERE WAS A FRAUD ATTEMPT SEEN BY TANGERINE BANK. UNFORTUNATELY THE CREDIT CARD INFO WAS NOT UPDATED ON FIDO ACCOUNT SO WHEN THE SYSTEM TRIED TO GET THE AMOUNT DUE FROM THE LINKED TANGERINE CREDIT CARD THE PAYMENT WAS DENIED BY TANFERINE BANK. AND THE "LATE PAYMENT" WAS ASSIGNED TO MY ACCOUT. BY THE TIME I GOT THE INFORMATION FROM FIDO IT WAS TOO LATE AS A PENALTY OF CAD 27.9 WAS INCLUDED IN THE RECENT BILL WHICH I DO NOT WANT TO PAY AS IT WAS NOT INTENTIONAL FROM MY SIDE. 

 

I NOW WISH TO PAY FROM MY NEW CIBC DIVIDEND VISA CARD BUT DO NOT KNOW HOW TO UPDATE THE PAYMENT METHOD ON FIDO WEBSITE. PLEASE ADVISE HOW TO CHANGE THE CREDIT CARD DETAILS ON THE FIDO WEBSITE AND OBLIGE.

You can change the card on file by following these simple steps:

 

- Log in on your online account on Fido.ca

- Click on Billing and Payments

- Select Change under Payment Method, Pre-Authorized Chequing and update the info

 

It's good to know that a charge of $25 may be applicable for a returned payment. 

 

In order to prevent that, you can change the payment method and remove the pre-authorised payments should your card be compromised. This would prevent an attempt at taking the payment.
