I was convinced at a Fido Store to apply for a RogersBank Credit card which (he said) offers 5 free “Roam Days”

I was talked into applying for a Rogers Bank Credit card because of higher cash backs and (he said) 5 free International Roam Days, which I've since found out do not apply to Fido customers. I'm in Europe and had planned on using those free days but decided to check before I turned on my Fido sim. Good thing because otherwise I would have had a $70 bill when I got home! Fido really should make sure their staff are adequately trained on these things! You still get "bonus" cash back when you link the accounts and pay the Fido bill with your Rogers Mastercard, but Rogers Customers also get 5 free Roam Days as well.  I am just disappointed because the Fido sales person gave me incorrect information which tipped the scales for me to apply for the credit card.

I am just now having the same experience. If you cant trust the sales people anymore, then its basically over.

Back when I purchased this combo of credit card and FIDO this proposition of 5 days of free roaming was what made us chose Fido over Kodoo.
To be let down on the single feature that made the sales, is absolutely dissappointing. They know nobody will sue over 60$.

Fido "At your side".... And gone when you need them.

I had the exact same experience unfortunately. Both me and my partner applied to get the Rogers Elite mastercard as we were told by Fido that we would get all the prks including the 5 days roam like home. I got the card just before my trip so I could use it. WhenI called Fido, the agent confirmed that I am not elligible and will get the 5 days Roam Like Home when I go on my trip. Just to make sure, I also called Rogers Bank but I was told that this is incorrect information and that only Rogers account holders are eligible for the Roam Like Home benefit with the Rogers mastercard. I was on the phone with Rogers Bank for 1  hour and 4 min as they were escalating this to figure it out just to be disconnected at the end. I wasted so much time (including my time on the phone and on hold with Fido), all only because of the misinformation that Fido is giving out to customers. Very dissapointed in Fido customer service. Please train your agents properly so they don't give people wrong information. Also the advertisement for it in Fido app is quite misleading. In my Fido App, I was offered to apply for the Rogers mastercard to get all the benefits but it doesn't mention that it doesn't pertain to Roam Like home for me.

I am  also sailing in same boat . The reason for getting card was just for roaming free days only . But looks like it kills the purpose

Hello there!

Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. I am sorry you were lead to believe otherwise. At the moment, only Rogers wireless customers can roam at no cost for 5 days every year with Roam Like Home in up to 185 destinations (up to $75 value). Redeemed on a first come first use basis on any CTN on the customer’s account.

This is absolutly not cool.  This was Actively promoted in store! Basically sold in combination.  And now you guys go "whops, sorry". Nobody is sorry here, many custumers got fooled, and now you sell packages for roaming.
Very dark sales patterns and not honerable at all.

Hi @EPeggyH , I also applied for the Rogers world credit card for the same reason. I called Rogers bank to confirm that it was indeed accurate and they said yes, so just prior to travel, I called again to make sure and was told no, only Rogers customers. The forms that came with the terms and conditions for the card also led me to believe that I had the benefit. So, I called again and they tried to switch me to Rogers to be eligible for the 5 days of roaming. So, you are correct that we are not eligible and I'm glad you mentioned it for others who may switch thinking that they will get that perk. So, I believe that the fido reps are not at fault, it's the vague information on the documents that leads people to believe that it's a benefit for us.

I think it is a terrible bait and switch! I think I will write to the CTRC or someone...

It is a bait in fact. I''ve applied to the Rogers Credit card for the very same reason and I figured it out that Fido customers are not eligible to the 5 day roam free.

I traveled to US and had to purchase an Airlo eSIM to have data (which works pretty fine). I will not move to Rogers since any plans they offer me are way more expensive than those they offer me. And I will keep using Airlo and recommending it to everyone I can.
CAD 12 / day for roaming on Fido  is an absurd.
