Do I need to change SIM card if I change my number?

I got calls recently saying they are missing calls from my number. But I never made those calls. So I assume my number is used by some scammers. I'd like to change my number and I see there's the option on line to do it. I just wonder if I can change my number without doing anything to my SIM card.

What I imagine is Fido has the technology to make the change to my existing SIM card once my "Change Number" is validated. Can anyone please confirm clearly it's true?

You are correct! You can change your number online without doing anything to your SIM card

No need to get a new SIM or anything, the number change will be updated on it.
