Changing phone number

Hi,

this may be a little complicate to explain. I currently have two phone plans under my account. My mother and I. My mother will soon be porting her number with a different company under her own name. So it will just be my phone number left on my account. My question is, is there a way she can keep her number with the other company but instead of her plan being cancelled I can take over her plan with my phone number and close my currently plan? Hers has a better plan that is no longer offered which is why I would be interested. Thank you

Welcome to the community!

It wasn't complicated at all but unfortunately, you can not swap plans once your mom ports out the plan will automatically be canceled even if she was not porting out you would not be able to swap plans.

But surely, if I understand the question correctly, @Katerina5 can change her mother's account to be in her name instead, port the number to whichever carrier she likes, then cancel her old account, effectively swapping numbers?

Or can the name on the account never be changed once it's created?
