I always found my android's screen to be too bright when I was looking at it before falling asleep at night. I found this app called Twilight that will remove the blue filter from your phone's screen which really helps with eye strain and prevents your phone from being as bright as the sun in the dark! The best part about this app is that it auto removes the blue filter in accordance with the sunset/sunrise time in your region, but the timing is completely customizable. You can always just turn it and off and on when you want it.
