Hey Pride Community! ✨
This past week was one in celebration for Transgender Awareness (November 13th to 19th), leading up to the Transgender Day of Remembrance (November 20th) which memorializes victims of transphobic violence.
Many of us in the 2SLGBTQ+ Community are faced with societal resistance, prejudice, discrimination and violence. The week is vital for jump-starting change and education that can make it possible for gender nonconforming and transgender people to find support and resources that they may need with their transition and/or identity.
As a collective, it is a pivotal time for the Community and allies alike to honor and uplift our Trans Community in hopes of advocating for equality and justice. A time to learn more about who transgender people are and to read about their experiences and stories in solidarity.
