HTC ChaCha

I just bought an HTC ChaCha in Asia and it works great for me.  HOWEVER, when I came back to Canada I realized that it does NOT work on the HSPA/WCDMA frequency with Fido.  I checked the specification requirement and realized that it needs 850/1900 for the 2G network, which is looks like the ChaCha is compatible.  But even after I switched from GSM/WCDMA(auto) to GSM Only the data still doesn't work on the phone.  Is there a way to turn on the 2G or I just can't use the data on this phone through Fido network?

  • Network for HTC ChaCha:
    HSPA/WCDMA: Europe/Asia: 900/2100 MHz
    Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE: 850/900/1800/1900 MHz

Hi there wenbanger,

Do you have a data option on your Fido account?

The reason I ask is that data is restricted without a compatible option.
