Downloaded a load of pdfs for school on wifi with data button turned on

I used the school wifi to download a lot of pdfs like 500mb on my phone but my packet data was turned on on my phone. I dont have a data plan with fido. Will I get charged from fido or its not automatic? I did not see an E on the top of my Samsung galaxy 2. Dont you usually get text messages from Fido if you used their data without a plan? How do I know if I used fido data?

Hey stevenon!

If you do not have a data option on your account, data is blocked automatically on your device. Then, if you would try to use the network's data, you would either get prompted for a Data Pass or it would not work and you would get a message saying that you tried using the data without a data option.

If the downloads went through, then, it means that only WiFi was used, and this is free.
