sim card question

Right now im using a standard Sim Card and im about to buy a micro sim card because I just bought a new phone. I know that micro sim card cost $10 and once I purchase that new card do I have to go to a fido store and they will transfer my number and data onto my new card? can someone explain to me how this works. I bought an iphone 4s if that info matters.

Also does apple store give out free fido sim cards if anyone know?

SIM cards are always $10, no matter what. Only exception is when you buy a new phone through Fido (at full price or with a plan upgrade) and that your current SIM card is not compatible.

You can activate your new SIM card on fido.ca/myaccount yourself (note that you will need to enter the old SIM card number as well as the new one for security reasons). Your number will then be immediately transferred to the new SIM card.
