I'm looking to buy the Nexus S but I've noticed quite a few people have complained in other forums that they are having problems with weak and dropped WIFI connections.
Has anyone encountered similar problems with the FIDO Nexus?
Thanks

I'm looking to buy an Acer Liquid E, but only if it has un-assisted GPS capabilites. That is, will it work without a data plan?
Thanks

I have a Nexus S in Winnipeg and I've never had a reception problem, but I don't have a data plan (have wifi everywhere I go) and use 2G only to save on battery life.
Google "Nexus s WIFI problems" and you will see many similar complaints. Some people are getting a poor signal standing a few feet away from their router.
I guess I should have been more specific in my query. I don't want to use Google maps, but an app like Copilot Live in which all the maps are downloaded to your phone. This would be ideal for me as when I travel, iI wouldn't incur huge roaming fees....
