When buying a new tablet, can I simply transfer my old tablet's SIM card to the new one and expect it to work seamlessly with my existing Fido plan?

Re "I'm assuming it's both fido tablet plans" I want to keep my existing Fido plan but get a new tablet from somewhere else. Would the new non-Fido tablet work with the SIM card of the old Fido tablet?
