I have an unlocked xt910 from rogers, got a plan with data on Fido and my internet is not working at all
What can I do to make it work, what are the steps to follow to be able to enjoy my data plan?

Did you make sure that you have the proper Access Point Names? I would suggest that you take a look at the following as i believe it can help you:
