Since the 3G network was retiring, called to place an order for the upgraded device. Finally received it, took about a month. However, tried to set it up today, followed the instructions but could not get it setup at all. I was expecting to get the ZTE, but received the TCL Linkhub HP42U2. Extremely difficult to find any other info on it! Fido's website is not updated at all with this device. Super frustrated, not sure if I got a faulty device?
Powered it on, no connection at all, moved it to a bunch of different places as recommended and no luck! The setup is pretty much identical to my old one, any help would be appreciated! Going to try in person, but just feel so defeated. Been such a process getting this device!

I just received the TCL Linkhub device today. Set up seemed pretty straightforward until I tried to activate the SIM card that came with it. When I went to activate it as instructed, it said it would send a security verification code to my home number, which is NOT a mobile. How dumb is that? Why not provide the option to send the verification code to my mobile number?
The instructions for installing a homephone on Fido's website refers to the old ZTE unit & not the new TCL unit. You would think Fido would update the instructions on their site to reflect the change.
I guess I will have to either call the 1-855 number or go to the Fido store to see if they can help.

Home Phone - TCL Linkhub HP42U2
- Spoke with CR Agent and they activated the NEW SIM Number
- Next, opened the back of the device - broke the Sim Card to the smallest size (nano)
- Placed the sim gold face down, with the notch at the bottom left and pressed downward on the plastic arm slightly. Slid the sim forward in the slot (fidgity)
- Placed the battery in by lining up the gold switches with the flat gold strip on the battery.
Closed the backing, added the antenae and plugged it in. All Good! Works

Thanks for the feedback @lisa335!
We'll have our team responsible for this take a look. Do you have access to the full guide for the device?

I received the TCL device and the sim card that came with it is the old home phone sim card. I went instore and swapped to a new sim card and everything started working.

Same situation here. Just received the TCL Linhub. Inserted the SIM card, plugged it in, and no signal at all. The SIM card may not be activated yet, and there's no instruction on how to swith the line from the old SIM card to the new one.
Some clarification would be helpful from Fido.
