RCS Messaging No Longer Working

I'm using the Messages app that comes with the Pixel 4a. This morning it's been 24 hours that the "Chat Features" has said "Connecting...".


Things I've tried to fix the problem:

- Restarted my phone

- Force quite the Messages app and then cleared the cache

- Disabled "Chat Features" in the Messages app, then uninstalled "Carrier Services" app, finally re-enabled "Chat Features" in the Messages App and then re-installed "Carrier Serivces"


There was a slight change in the "Chat Features" setting. Now instead of it saying "Connecting..." it's stuck at "Setting Up..."


Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can fix this? I find that "Chat Features" stops working at least once a month for me and it's really frustrating. Is this a Fido issue? Would moving to Telus fix this problem?

I used to see this problem more when RCS was first introduced you just need to leave it and it will connect on its own you can also try clearing the data cache of the app and connecting to WiFi as I found connecting to WiFi makes it connect faster.
