Just got announced today.
Does Fido know if it'll support VoLTE and WiFi calling on Fido yet?
It also uses eSIM. Wonder how that'll work with registration

To be honest with you its difficult to tell because it wouldn't be stable. During a call the HD symbol would come and go and i wouldnt notice any obvious drop in quality

if you turn on airplane mode and enable the wifi and your calls go through it means it's using wifi calling and it works
the HD symbol will appear if your voice is on VoLTE or WiFi calling i think so if you don't see HD maybe it dropped back down to HSPA?

Hey @user456912,
Thank you for the screen capture. Have you tried the onboarding process while having the Wi-Fi disabled as well?

Also having issues with this. I have the latest 8.1 update and the ability to turn on volte and wifi calling but getting the same errors. Can someone help me please? I guess I am also not part of the fido whitelist. Any way to get on it yet?

Hey @prozess, did you purchase your phone from Fido or Rogers?
December 2017
No it wasn't. But I have the latest Android 8.1 update with the same exact build number as every other Rogers and fido pixel 2. There should be nothing else that is configurable to be "optimized" for for Fido's wifi calling and volte other than my IMEI not being on your list. Is there a way to fix that?

Unfortunately not. For the moment, Wi-Fi Calling will only work on devices purchased from Fido or Rogers. I'll be sure to update this thread if that changes!
