Can I hide my number when TEXTING (similar to using *67 when calling)?

Ok, sounds silly, but I've just started using dating sites and people want to communicate via text before meeting, and I don't want them knowing my phone number because i don't know them well. (Only telling this so we know its not for nefarious reasons!)

Is there a way to hide the number from the person receiving the texts??

Any help is appreciated.

Hello Deanna!

There is no way for you to block your phone number on outgoing text messages. You would therefore have to use another way of communicating, like BBM, Windows Live Messenger or another instant messaging application.
