Re: Acer E Liquid has issues with US raoming network

Can you put your phone in manual network scan and manually select the Fido Network (302-720)? your phone may be trying to pick a stronger signal from the American side of the border, thus it could be in SOS Only mode no calls or sms can go through when your not "locked" onto a carrier.

Re: Acer E Liquid has issues with US raoming network

i have those options (in check list mode):

  • Disable data connection (disable using mobile data network)
  • Data roaming (connecto to data roaming services when roaming)
  • Use only 2G networks
  • Access point names
  • Network operators
That's it....
It is so frustrating to have a brand new phone and nothing works, and Tech-calling @  Fido can't even answer you....

Re: Acer E Liquid has issues with US raoming network

Open the Applications tab and tap Settings > Wireless & networks > Mobile
networks > Network operators.
2.Your phone will search for available networks.
3.Select your preferred network from the list generated. You phone will attempt to register on the selected network.

Choose Fido

Hope This Helps

Thats very unfortunate, and looks like a network coverage issue. Sorry to hear your experiencing those problems. I hope you do get some sort of valid solution from the guys at customer service.

Re: Acer E Liquid has issues with US raoming network

Hi LP,

Sorry to hear you are having a hard time with your phone. Are you connected to NO provider or does it say you are connected to a US provider?

It sounds like you have gone through most steps, here is what we have left:

- Try another SIM card (or your sim in another Fido device if available), this will let us know if the problem is coming from the phone or the sim card/network

- Your device may be defective

- There may be an issue at our end, calling in would allow us to escalate the issue

- You are out of the coverage area

These are the options we are left with given the information provided. I hope this helps.
