$35 Affordable plan with 3GB Data is supposed to be offered by all Carriers according to the CRTC

In 2021, the CRTC ordered all carriers to offer a low cost cell phone plan that meets most peoples basic needs.  $35 per month for 3 GB data and unlimited talk and text.  Yesterday, I had to go to two Rogers/Fido stores with a widowed senior and argue with their staff to find it in their database. One absolutely refused. Another store found it. Even they admitted it was very buried in their computer. One shouldn't have to face conflict to get their rightful plan.

Here is the CRTC declaration.

It's your right to have an affordable plan.

Hello User1598865,

Sorry to hear of your difficulties obtaining that plan. I cannot speak as to why those stores were unable (or unwilling) to find the plan. However, it's not hidden or buried. It's considered a Basic plan and readily available on the website:

I'm not trying to make excuses for them, however, it's possible they just were not familiar with locating those plans. For anyone else looking to obtain that plan, perhaps specifying it's listed under Basic plans might help.

Cheers

I have searched everywhere for the basic plans and they are not coming up in search.  We had to go to a store and pay $75 fee because it does not show up search engines. This is buried.  Would you please send the URL where you found the above plan?

Hello again,

The page can be found via Fido.ca --> Mobile Plans --> Bring your own device. On the Build Your Plan page, the first step is to Choose your plan --> Basic. The page can also be found here

**edit** The Data, Talk, & Text and Talk & Text plans don't show via the search engine either... **

Hope this helps 😀

Cheers
