"50GB, Talk & Text - Plus" Plan -- the fine print

Hi there, I've signed up for the above plan.  When I read the agreement, it says:

  • Unlimited Can+US+Intl Text, Picture & Video Msgs (sent from Can+US)
  • Unlimited Can+US Calling (to/from)
  • Access your data from Can+US

I take the first bullet to mean that I have unlimited SMS/MMS messaging within Canada and the US, but can only receive -- not send -- messages "internationally"; right?

The second bullet means that I can call to and from anywhere in Canada and the US to anywhere in Canada and the US, including US to US; right?

The third bullet means I can use my 50GB data anywhere in Canada and the US; right?   And RCS messages use data?

Thanks!

Thanks for that, CawTau.   I did contact Customer Service and confirmed the first bullet means that, as long as I'm in Canada or the US, I can message to and from anywhere.  I didn't ask if "US" included Puerto Rico, Guam,....

Hello P4P,

  Welcome to the community!

Firstly, you should note this forum is community-driven and not intended as a venue for customer services. You might consider verifying my interpretation of those details.

I believe the first bullet means you can send and receive SMS and/or MMS to Canadian, US, or International numbers while you are in Canada or the US (ie roaming in US).

I believe you are correct about the second bullet. You can make calls to Canadian and US numbers while in Canada or roaming in the US.

I believe you are also correct in that you can use your included data in Canada or while roaming in the US.

Yes, RCS messages are considered data and not SMS or MMS.

If you wish to verify my interpretation, you might consider contacting customer service. They can also be contacted via Live Chat, Facebook, or Twitter. Those methods can be accessed via the contact page posted above.

Hope this helps 😀

Cheers
