Hello,

Fido offered me a credit of $50 towards my phone (device) while signing up for 2 yr contract. If I upgrade my plan, will I lose that credit?  Thanks for the help!

Hello Vignesh19,

Welcome to the community!

As Kapable-K alluded to below, if you are referring to a Payment Program Promotion credit, changing your plan could affect it.

Ever since Fido switched from their subsidised plan model to their Payment Program financed model, services costs and device costs are now separate. That means that you can change your plan without affecting your device financing (ie keep Payment Program Promotion credit). However, those changes can only be done within the same plan-type category (Data, Talk & Text to Data, Talk & Text).

Plan changes between plan-type categories would not only result in losing the Payment Program Promotion credit, but also result in you getting charged your full outstanding Fido Payment Program balance (see link above). Note that the remaining Payment Program Promotion credits would not apply.

Hope this helps 😀

Cheers

Hello @Vignesh19,

Welcome to the community!

Upgrading your plan with Fido shouldn’t automatically remove any existing phone credits, but it depends on the specifics of your current agreement and the new plan you’re considering. If your phone credit is tied to a promotional offer or the Fido Payment Program, changing your plan might affect it—sometimes credits are linked to staying on a specific plan tier or term.
