WIFI Calling for non-Fido Device

I recently ported over to Fido and didn't realize this policy.  I bought a phone from Samsung directly since the carriers don't seem to sell the S21 Ultra in 512GB but regardless, is there any way to get my device approved so that I can use this important feature?

Hi there @LGO7 , nice phone you picked. Congrats. Have you first tried turning on wifi calling on your device and setting the 911 address? I did that on my BlackBerry a while back and it worked for me. If that doesn't work, you could call in to *611 and see if they can activate it with the help of Fido customer service reps or tech support. Sometimes, it will work and sometimes it won't. The best chance is to try and perhaps be pleasantly surprised.

Hi,

I tried on my device but got error that device isn't allowed and did reach out to support but got told only fido devices supported. So I'm still trying to see if there is any way to get my phone added to the "approved" list.

Thanks,

Hello @LG07,

Unfortunately that isn't an option, it needs to be a Fido device.
