I will be traveling within Canada to an area close to the boarder that is known to pick up US cell towers and cause roaming Charges. Is there any way to avoid this besides leaving my phone turned off for two weeks.
The Place I'm staying at is literally a 100 feet from the baorder

Hello Playswithbolts,
Welcome to the community!
You might consider setting the phone's network manually to Fido rather than have the device automatically choosing the network. That should prevent the phone from connecting to the US cellular towers. However, in doing so, that would also prevent the device from connecting to extended coverage, if the area is not covered by Fido/Rogers. If that location does not have adequate signal when connected to Fido network, you could try to choose one of the extended coverage networks (Fido-EXT).
Hope this helps 😀
Cheers
