I have a 20GB Talk & Text - BYOP plan with a 200 International LD Minutes add-on. I ordered a new phone while keeping my current plan. Here is the cart summary:

After I ordered I got the following email:

What will my final monthly fee be?

Hello Pavanthisppm,

  Welcome to the community!

Firstly, you should note the forums are community-driven and not intended as a venue for customer services. We do not have access to customers' accounts nor would we know the full details of your situation.

Unfortunately, I think the system might have mistakenly allowed you to make that purchase. The BYOP (Bring Your Own Phone) plans are for people who do not need to finance devices. They generally do not allow for the financing of devices. As far as I am aware, in order to avail of their Payment Program, customers would need to have one of their finance-compatible plans (ie Plus plan or Entry plan; see here). With their Payment Program, device financing costs are separate from monthly service costs (as opposed to their old subsidised plans). Total monthly costs would be the addition of the two costs.

I do not know the monthly cost of your BYOP plan, however, it's possible the email provided you with the cost of a similar Plus or Entry plan.

That said, I believe you should be able to purchase the device outright if you wished to keep your existing BYOP plan.

If you would like clarification and assistance with your matter, you would need to contact customer service. In addition, they can also be contacted via Live Chat, Facebook, or Twitter. Those methods can be accessed via the contact page posted above.

Hope this helps 😀

Cheers
