Hi, I got an email saying that my phone is using 3g network and since the network is planned to be shutdown, I'll get charged 3$/month extra. My phone is capable of using 5G. I checked the band's and it should work on fido.

I think fido doesn't support volte on one plus and that seems to be the issue. What can I do now? Is there a plan for fido to support volte for OnePlus devices

Hello Mohitjampala,

Welcome to the community!

Yes, Fido traditionally have not supported certain services (ie voLTE and/or Wifi-calling etc) on devices or versions of devices they do not sell. Without voLTE, calls and text messages (SMS and/or MMS) would fall-back to the '3G' network. I understand that once the '3G' network is decommissioned, limiting voLTE to only Canadian versions of devices or devices they sell will be problematic for other device users. Unfortunately, I am not aware of any plans to support those features on other devices.

Hope this helps 😀

Cheers
