Last month I visited Toronto and purchased a month to month Fido contract so that I could use my phone. Now I am back in the UK I am trying to cancel my contract but cannot contact anyone customer support because it's asking me to top up my balance, and the chat support is only AI automated, you can't speak to a real person anymore. I am back in the UK now and turned off my Canadian Fido e-Sim line yet I've just been charged a huge amount in error! I'm trying to contact Fido about this and to cancel my contract but there is literally no way possible, so I am posting here. Please can someone provide me with actual customer support so I can cancel my contact and find out why I have been charged an insane amount despite turning off the e-sim! Thieves

Hello,
Welcome to the community!
Sorry to hear of your situation. It is unfortunate you might not have understood how post-paid plans operate. I'm not sure why you opted for month-to-month services. Most vistors would obtain pre-paid services. Post-paid plans would continue (regardless of whether you actually use the services) until you cancel your services. Simply turning off the eSIM card from your device does not cancel services. Had you cancelled your services before you left Canada? You would need to contact customer service to cancel your services. They do offer a contact number to use when abroad.
You should note this forum is community-driven and not intended as a venue for customer services. We do not have access to customers' accounts nor would we be in any position to address your matter. You would need to contact customer service. I understand you are currently outside of Canada and the toll-free numbers may not work. At one point, customers used to be able to call the From Abroad number collect. However, with the automated system, I'm not sure whether that option is available anymore.
Hope this helps 😀
Cheers

Further to this, the only way to cancel is to call customer service which I cannot do because I'm back in the UK and their international number is not free to call!
