Hi. Can someone explain to me how it is fair for Fido to charge a $16 daily roaming fee for a single text that was sent out? And even on the website it mentions pay per use, which I would accept for sure as it was my error, but $16?!
also to have to call to opt into pay per use is ridiculous as it takes a day or two to even get a call back appointment. Why is this not available on the app instead?

Hi @Chiroruchoco , sorry to hear you were charged for a full-day of service when you just wanted to send a text. Have you tried using WhatsApp or Facebook Messenger when you travel? Or pick up a local sim card for use when you travel? I know this doesn't help you now, you can request to opt out of roaming, that will require a call in to do so. Try *611 to make that call or contact fido with one of the methods mentioned Here

As you probably already know, the $16/day charge is related to the use of Fido Roam, which is part and parcel of almost all the plans we offer. Although you can opt-out of this, we do not recommend this as going pay-per-use can get costly quite quickly, especially with data.
