FIDO MACC question

SnowSilence

This is my situation:

- my current plan: $13/4GB data only plan

On June 9, 2025(today):

- My banking account shows a pending payment for $50.85 for "FIDO MACC" purpose

Why I am paying $50 for my $13 plan?

Hello SnowSilence,

Welcome to the community!

Firstly, you should note that these forums are community-driven and not intended as a venue for customer services. We do not have access to customers' accounts nor would we know the details of your particular situation.

You note your plan is a data-only plan. Do you also have a Data, Talk, & Text plan as well? As far as I am aware, those data-only plans were only available for Fido post-paid customers. If you don't have another eligible post-paid plan, it's possible they transitioned your plan to a similar Data, Talk, & Text plan (see here). However, that would only be speculation.

If you would like to discuss your matter, you would need to contact customer service

Hope this helps 😀

Cheers

Hello Cawtau,

Thank you for let me know.

Before I sending this post, I 100% totally know that you might not have access to my account.

The reason I start a post here, is that there is no more online specialist at Fido, thats really inconvenient.

Yes, I only have one line under my account now, which is the data only plan. I checked my account, the plan is still $13 and my previous bills were $13+tax. Only today I login into my bank account by accident and saw this $50.85 bill for FIDO MACC, this "FIDO MACC" description is the first time that appears on my bank account.

If it is a speculation, then I am curious about it.  I do not need a talk text and data plan, why fido is self-assertion to make decision for me?

And if the speculation is real, then me and my family might have a deep consideration on Fido. WE ARE FIDO CUSTOMERS for YEARS.

Best,

Hello again,

Thank you for the additional information. The MACC stands for Monthly Automatic Credit Card (see here). So that bank description would not provide any information as to the reason for the charge other than it was an automatic charge.

Have you had a chance to view the detailed billing? You should be able view those details via your My Account --> View & Manage Bill. From there, you should be able to Save and/or Print a PDF copy of your bill. Alternatively, you should also be able to access those call details by clicking on Usage summary. It should list the source of the charges.

I understand it might not be convenient to contact customer service, however, if you wished to discuss that charge, you would need to contact them.

Hope this helps 😀

Cheers
