Hey Fido

 

I am a Fido user and i want to cancel my current Fido account as I have left Canada for good and am abroad and I am unable to cancel my account via calling customer support services because I can't cancel my services by the chat anymore. I am not able to call the customer service. Kindly let me know the other way. And I want to cancel my roaming as well. Kindly help.

 

P.S. I also tried to cancel my account by using social medias.

It is unreasonable that the only offered solution comes at a high cost for something that could be easily addressed through a straightforward conversation.

im in the same situation. I tried callign customer care numbers from fido number on roaming it still doesn't connect, chat specialist no longer available, and twitter DMs are of no help either!

I need to call to them using internacional services provided in my country. This is very expensive. That was the only solution.

I'm in the same situation. If someone has been able to successfully cancel your line from abroad, please share. =(

One thing we CAN do is do a temporary suspension while we figure this out, in case anyone hasn't looked at that option.

By any chance, have you tried using our Virtual Assistant? Options for calling from U.S and abroad are also provided. Please have a look here.

They straight up do not work. The Virtual Assistant chat will say they need a specialist for this and will not solve it. When I try to reach through the call, they don't have any special agents ready so i have to provide the number that I do not have (as I'm away from the country!!!)

Thanks for chiming in! I regret to advise that you do need to speak with a Fido live agent in order to have your account services cancelled, and the only way to do so would be to use the Virtual Assistant to set-up a call-back.

Luckily i still have the SIM for Fido so I could request a call back (through it'll probably be giving me a roaming fee)

 

But getting rid of Live Chat Agents are the worst experience I've ever had. This was so stressful. Never again.

Try to contact customer service you'll be able to cancel your services with them. Once you exit Canada your GSM carrier will most likely change so leaving Fido is logical.

I am in the exact same situation - were able to get support? I just got charged $95 and am fuming.

  Firstly, you should note these forums are community-driven and not intended as a venue for customer services. We do not have access to customers' accounts nor would we be able to cancel your services. Unfortunately, I don't think there is any way to cancel services through social media. In addition, Fido does not offer customer services via email. As far as I am aware, cancellations can only be done by calling them:

 

                 You may cancel any or all of your Services and any corresponding Agreement at any time by calling us...

                             ~taken from Terms of Service; section 2e

 

  That said, if you would like to go over your options, you would need to contact customer service. I understand you are currently outside of Canada. They do have a number to call From Abroad. In addition, they can also be contacted via Live Chat, Facebook, or Twitter. Those methods can be accessed via the contact page posted above. Though, you may likely still need to call them to cancel your services.

I have the same problem. Living abroad, cannot cancel. Unable to call the customer service phone number. Unable to get support from anyone on My Fido portal. What am I supposed to do? Get charged forever?

  Welcome to the community!

 

  Sorry to hear of your situation. However, as stated in the solution, I believe you will have to call customer service in order to cancel your services. As also mentioned, they do offer a number to call From Abroad. Since that post, however, I don't believe they are offering customer support via social media anymore. In addition, the Live Chat options might be limited to virtual assistance.

But that's just it. I am also on the same boat. The international number they are offering cannot be contacted.
