I just activated 5 hours of extra data, and suddenly, after only 30 minutes, it stopped and drained my whole data for my monthly plan. This is totally unacceptable!

We would definitely need to look into this.
Do you know if the network disconnected while you were using the option? Did you contact customer service about this?

No the network didn't disconnect. I checked the forum, someone else had exactly same problem as mine.
I'd contact customer service but unfortunately the agent was so knowledgeable about this problem. She mentioned that the log file shows that I start using the data bites at 8.50pm to 9.50pm, but I mentioned her I received text messages from fido at 9.25 which said I have already used 100% of my monthly data. So the data bite got totaly disabled after only using 35 minutes.
