Sorry to hear your internet did not work, is the cable to your property hooked up? Do you have any other cable services?
Did you cancel the internet or just want to swap the modem? Did you check your junk/spam folder to see if the email went there? Since it's been five months I would suggest you contact customer service to see what is going on and they can better advise you.
