Hey Community!

 

Notice all the cool new features in the My Account app? If you haven’t, that may be because you haven’t downloaded the newest version yet.

 

What’s so new about the app? Most importantly, you now get 5 extra hours of data. Free. Awesome right? That’s 1 hour, 5 times a month, with all Fido PulseTM plans.

 

On top of that, you’ll find new functionalities, such as:

 

  • PIN authentication
  • An inbox where you’ll receive messages from Fido
  • The ability to initiate a plan change and/or a phone upgrade
  • Touch ID login! (compatible phones only)

Of course, these are in addition to all the other existing features:

 

  • Track your data, airtime, text messaging and long distance usage according to your schedule
  • View your bill, and save/print a PDF with full details (Account holders only)
  • Make a secure payment with your Credit Card on-the-go
  • Manage your travel options
  • Edit your contact information and billing address without calling us
  • Change your method of payment in just a few taps
  • Switch up your add-ons straight from your phone!
  • Get info to keep you moving with DeviceAdvice
  • Check your network status with NetworkAid

wow a new app just in time for me to regester with fido

Love the new app Fido, clean and displays exact what I want to know about my account. Great job!! Smiley

 

I would like to suggest one minor tweak to the Fido App. The "usage wheel" for data/voice/text displays your usage counter-clockwise where if you log into My Account on Fido.ca, it displays your usage clockwise. I definitely find clockwise way easier to view. Also, the new app highlights your usage in white which is confusing to the eye. Please update the app to replicate Fido.ca's usage wheel.

@nick67 The android verson is also the same as your iphone verson. 

Would of never noticed to be honest, but now it bugs me like a sore thumb.

@FidoMaria I hope prepayed customers can take advantage of this application. The Base apk of the fido my app is installed on every android phone fido sold. I just hope my pals on prepayed can take advantage of it. Pre-Payed has to looked at just as much as post payed.

The new app doesn't work on my Fido LG G Pad 3 tablet, it just brings me to the webpage in Chrome. "Requires Android 4.2 and up" and I'm on Android 7.

I get it.

 

I checked on my end and the data bytes feature works with smartphones with the: 

 

  • Blackberry Z10 or BlackBerry Q10 (app for Blackberry 10 devices only)
  • Windows

And it doesn't work with  Smartphones with a BlackBerry or Windows OS

 

If there's any change in the future, we will update this blog Smiley

The app doesn't work with: 

  • iPads and tablets
  • Prepaid accounts
  • BlackBerry and Windows devices (viewing invoice functionality) 

 

For now, you can access your Fido account through your browser Smiley

@FidoSamantha, @FidoKenny,

Is the new app available for BB10 or not? You both seem to disagree on this subject. If it is available, how do I get it. Its not on BB World (only the old v1.1.0.349 is there) or on the Amazon App store which are the only app sources for BB10 users.

How can I take advantage of the extra data and new features, if at all, on my BB Z30?

Hey @SgtWilko!

 

At the moment, the new app is available to Android and iPhone users. You can still get the app on your Blackberry but it will be the older version of the app.

 

If anything changes, we'll definitely update Fido.ca and the Community Smiley

I have a Blackberry Q10 (cue the jokes, I don't care, I like the keyboard). I also have a Google Nexus 2013 tablet. I cannot load the MyFido Account app to my tablet to take advantage of the 5 hours of free data in a month. I cannot access this feature in the My Account app/shortcut on my phone either. How do I access the free data?
